Playdates and tutus

Emma had a playdate with her friend Lillian from daycare. The two are growing up together having been together since before they were 1. They play and fight like sisters. No playdate is complete without first putting on tutus before going outside to play!

But the best part is coming back inside for hot chocolate and drnking it with spoons!

Pumpkin Picking

We had fun family day at Connor's farm picking pumpkins, drinking cider and eating doughnuts. They have a ig corn field maze but we decided to do the little haystack.

"No Jack, don't eat the hay."

Emma was not in a smiling mood that day;-(

1st Haircut

Jack got his first haircut this weekend. He was a little unsure at first but then just plain squirmy. He wanted to look all around at everything going on. Thanks Auntie Paula!

Happy 1st birthday Jack!

Look at a me I'm 1 today! The birthday festivities started on friday evening. I had a wonderful steak and potatoe dinner, my fav. After dinner Daddy brought out a big "red" cupcake. Emma choose the red one for me. No one is quite sure why.

It was delicious. I never hesitated once. I just dug right in..all the way up my elbows. After cupcakes it was straight to the bath for me. After bath..present time!

I got my big boy chair...look at me sooo big!! I climb right on up by myself!

Then my wonderful big sister helped me open the wrapped presents. I got to play with the paper after and maybe the toy if I was lucky.

Saturday was party day. It was very warm outside and we all played in the backyard. My newest trick is climbing all the way up the slide. A little scarey for mommy to watch.

Then more cake! This is great!

I couldn't even wait to get outside.

I impressed everyone with my fork skills. Hey if there was frosting on the fork every time of course I would use it and not throw it on the floor.

It was a great birthday weekend surrounded by family and friends. Thank you everyone.

Swan Boats and Ducklings Statue

We had a goregous day at the Public Garden. (okay, so it was a month ago from the post date!)
Emma was so excited after reading Make Way for Ducklings to go for s Swan Boat ride and to see the duckling statue. Alot of the excitment happened just on the "T" ride in. A real train ride like Daddy does to go to work...so exciting!

Mommy and Jack enjoying a smile together. (some funny business behind the camera:-))

Not our boat, but one we went by.

"The ducky family...like in the book", Emma said.

And finally we get to the duckling statues. Emma had to sit on every single one!

And finally Mama duck!

Emma was a sleep before we even left the garden and slept the whole, very loud, "T" ride home...tired baby:-(

Emma's a big girl now!

The day finally came for Emma to get her Dora bicycle! She was promised if she could go a full week...7 days without any potty accidents she would get her Dora bike. We are so proud of her! She has been working very hard to get here and its only taken a few weeks! (in full disclousure, we have been on/off all summer, but really started potty boot camp 3 weeks ago)

Yeah, now down to only 1 in diapers!

Emma's first blow out (hair, I mean)

Emma went to see her Auntie Paula for a haircut this weekend with Daddy. She is getting braver and braver evey time she goes. This time she worn the "cape" and let Auntie Paula blow dry her. She sat so nicely Auntie did the whole thing...straight! Mommy hardley recongnized her little girl when they came home! Emma thought it was so much fun! Uh Oh...what to come...
