Mommy went into preterm labor on September 19, 2009 . They gave Jack steroids to help develop his lungs and mommy drugs to help stop the labor. We went home after a few day hospital stay and then were back in the hospital a few days later with advancing labor again. This time it was unstoppable.

We made it to 33 weeks and he wasn't going to wait any longer. Mommy got the epidural and we waited and waited and waited. Finally that evening it was time to push. Luckily with a 5 pd baby you only push for a short amount of time.

Jack got an 8/9 on his apgar score and is doing great. He is currently in the NICU at BWH. He is working on breathing on his own, feeding, temp control and keeping steady heart rate without any drops or "bradys" or apnea.

Mommy eating a tuna fish sandwich after delivery. She hadn't eaten all day and was staving...anything would have tasted good!

Mommy's first touch.

Poppy and Mimi meeting baby Jack.

Big sister Emma's first meeting with her little brother. She wanted to take him out and open his incubator...very cute..out out, open it, she kept saying.

Daddy's first diaper change. Changing a boy is much different then changing a girl.

Scoot, scoot, scooter!

Emma was introduced to a scooter over labor day weekend. It was a bigger hit then the beach. She could push it, ride it, and go over speed bumps with Mimi's help.

Girls girls girls...

Kara, Brendan, and their daughter Georgia, and Tara, Nick and their daughter Lila came down to visit us in Madison for the weekend. It was so great. Mommy's college buddies with all our daughters. Although the weather was crummy, we had a blast.

Best buddies!

Before bedtime fun...these girls are ready for sleepovers!

Lila, Georia and Emma, clean and ready for bed.

Summer Fun Time!

We had a wonderful week down in Madison at our summer house. The weather was perfect all week. Emma had a blast going to the beach everyday, building sand castles, playing in the water and eating popsicles.
Building sand castles with her new friend Naomie. Naomie is the daughter of one of mommy's oldest childhood summer buddies who's name is also Amy...very confusing for our girls...Amy and I grew up summering down there and are so excited that now our daughters get to do the same.

Daddy helping Emma with a Sandcastle and water pool...I think Daddy did most of the work..and Emma did most of the enjoying of the fruits of his labor.

Emma's first popsicle....quite a hit!

Pretty summer dress...cutie patutie!
